Rockport with new global headquarters

The footwear manufacturer has moved its global corporate headquarters to the city of Newton, Massachusetts, where it will home roughly 215 employees
The Rockport group, owner of the brands Rockport, Aravon and Dunham, is moving into new headquarters a year and a half after it became a standalone entity. The business was part of the adidas group, but 18 months ago it was acquired by the Boston-based investment firm Berkshire Partners LLC and New Balance Holding, Inc., the investment arm of New Balance.
Rockport has been founded in Massachusetts in 1971 so the connection to the region is undeniable.
The Boston area is also an historic location for footwear companies, as it was the nation’s footwear-making region and now concentrates headquarters and hubs of design, marketing and sourcing of important brands (which have the production elsewhere).
