Karl Vögele sells Austrian stores
The Swiss-based shoe retailer is refocusing its business model by concentrating in its 300 stores in the domestic market. An agreement to sell its 70 stores in Austria to Germany-based investment company, Lafayette Industrieholding was reached
The Karl Vögele retail network comprises three distinct brands Vögele Shoes, Bingo Shoe Discount (lower priced) and Max Shoes (youth focused stores).
With the sale of the Autrian side of the business the group is now re-orientating its Swiss business, with the new strategy being led by Adri¬an Grossholz, Chief Commercial Officer since the 1st of January. Karl Vögele aims to reposition its retail banners, with a particular focus on Vögele Shoes and Bing Shoe Discount. Stores will be remodeled and the company announced a new marketing campaign.
